RNIB, did you know?

In Great Britain at 31st March 1997, the Office of Population, Censuses and Surveys survey of disability(1988) identified over 2 million adults in Britain with a 'seeing difficulty'. RNIB estimates that one million of these could be registered as blind or partially sighted. However, only one third of a million people are actually registered with social services. Worldwide, there are at least 42 million people who are blind, and many more who are partially sighted.
